To practice the ancient art of Tantra is to experience immeasurable amounts of bliss and pleasure. In plunging into the senses of the body, we no longer have to strive for orgasm during lovemaking; instead, we become orgasmic, and ecstasy lives and breathes inside of us--even when we're not in the bedroom.

Tantra's charm lies in the experiential. To read about it, to hear about it, to think about it--all of this is nothing compared to actually experiencing it.

Aside from feeling amazing, orgasms have the ability to balance, heal, and rejuvenate the body. Orgasms can even lower the risk for heart disease and cancer. Countless studies have been done to illustrate the health benefits that orgasms have to offer.

Usually, in lovemaking, it's all about tensing and straining to get to this one goal. There's a huge build-up, and all this energy is used, just for the sake of this one great-big-climax. After the release happens, all this energy is expended, and we can sometimes feel very tired afterwards.

With a Tantric orgasm, it's the opposite. There's no rush to meet that one goal. The body relaxes, instead of tensing, opening the way to experiencing a multitude of orgasms that pulse throughout the entire body, almost without end. And the feeling isn't just limited to your genitals; the orgasm can actually be felt everywhere--in your heart, your forehead, your elbow. Every cell in your body vibrates with it. It's an incredibly healing and blissful feeling that can last for hours, days, even weeks after the orgasm. It's a feeling unlike any other. It goes deep into the core of your body, filling you up with radiance and joy.

For some of us females, it can be difficult to get to orgasm. In some cases, it can require a good deal of time and concentration. In some cases, we are not completely comfortable expressing to our partner what we want, and so we can't get to a place that supports us in having a fulfilling sexual experience. In some other cases, the challenge is there, because an unresolved emotion is keeping the body from being able to completely let go and relax into orgasm.

Stuck emotions and even limiting beliefs can form blocks in the body. So if we can let go of those elements in our lives that are no longer serving us, we're actually freeing ourselves up to experience some pretty incredible orgasms. And in doing so, we're opening the door toward an insane amount of bliss and pleasure--not just in regards to sex, but also to every other particle of our lives.

If you want to make an effort to sever the ties between you and these stuck emotions or limiting beliefs, create an intention to feel an opposite emotion or limiting belief. For example, if there is a feeling of loneliness inside of you, create an opposite intention and tell yourself that you'd like to cultivate more connection and community with the people around you. Once you've set your intention, turn on some music and shake your whole body out. Close your eyes as you do it, and empty the mind of all thoughts. Let your shaking be messy; it shouldn't look graceful or controlled at all. Let your body be completely loose. As you shake, you are clearing the pathways inside of you and opening the space up for this new intention to take root and blossom. This is an amazing exercise for letting go of all that is no longer serving you. In doing this, you are laying the groundwork for experiencing deep orgasmic states.

Now, during sex, there is a lot of pleasure to be attained from the simple act of breathing. Next time you are making love to your partner, allow yourself to surrender completely to your breath. Inhale and exhale through an open mouth, and make sure your breath travels all the way down into your belly. The deeper your breath goes, the more pleasure and sensation you will feel. The more connected to your body you will feel.

If you feel comfortable, let your partner know what you're doing, and have him breathe right along with you. In breathing together, try to synchronize your breath. And continue to go really deep, allowing the breath to really transform and stimulate you. Remember to keep breathing through the mouth. Also, if you're in the right position for it, lock eyes with your partner. Really go for it. Surrender completely to the connection, the bond that is being fused between you and this other person.

This kind of breathing can really set the stage for magic to happen. It can cut off the thought process in your mind and catapult you into the beauty of the moment. In this way, you are not willing yourself toward orgasm. Instead, you are clearing the way for orgasm to effortlessly radiate inside of you.
