What the hell is happing to Thailand? Prime Minister Thaksin

by Dick » Sun Apr 26, 2009 8:36 am

Note by Dick 8 months later 10 February 2010: This is something I wrote when I was really pissed off, cos it was just starting to dawn on me that my original site builder was "suspicious" and was purposely wasting my time, purposely censoring me. Maybe I got a bit "Hot Headed" but I still feel the basic argument is sound. WAKE UP WORLD!

Only a few days after I wrote this article, pornrevolution.net was hacked, Trogens inserted and therefore dropped from the Google list.

It continued to get repeatedly hacked and dropped from the google list for the next 3 months, I strongly suspect the original site builder was involved.

I didn't' know how to save work on Microsoft word at the time, just wrote directly onto the site, and lost about half a book of written work. But miraculously I managed to salvage this story. One of the main story's that caused all the trouble in the 1st place. I bet "they" are spewing!

Seems I have now escaped my ex-site builders grasp.

WELL HERE IS SOMETHING THAT'S GOING TO GET ME IN TROUBLE. A BIT OF FREE SPEECH. IN A WORLD THAT HAS BEEN RAILROADED BY A MULTINATIONAL OWNED MEDIA.
IN A WORLD THAT'S BEING KILLED BY GREEDY "PROFIT BEFORE PEOPLE" MULTINATIONAL COMPANY'S WITH GDP'S BIGGER THAN ENTIRE COUNTRY'S.
THE COMPANY'S WHO CONTROL EVERYTHING WE THINK, HEAR, SEE AND EVEN BREATH.

I'm sorry nothing pains me more than to hear people recite propaganda like parrots. Have everyone in the world been reduced to a bunch of "half happy" or "downright miserable" ROBOT'S, incapable of a single original thought?????

Just "read between the lines" and its easy to see something very fishy is being done to Thailand. They are being attacked by the Western world, AGAIN. as they have, on and off, throughout history.
During the Last 100years, due to the amazing foresight of the GREAT Thai Kings of the past. Thailand has managed to stay "off the radar", and out of the line of fire of the warmongering obsessions of the "so called" civilised country's.

Thailand is the only Asian country NOT to have EVER been occupied by a foreign power.

The "so called" civilised world has attacked and raped and pillaged EVERY other Asian country.

Thailand have been Master's at "working in", with the stronger more aggressive country's that have ruled the world for at least 200 years. And avoiding War and Bloodshed on their own soil, avoiding Death and Hardship from the country's that deliver Death and Hardship. But they have almost had to "sell their soul" to achieve this.

I don't have all the fact's at hand, I'm not a gigantic Media outlet.

I only know what's going on is, WRONG and designed to destroy the country, and make them "fold" completely, and open up completely to multinational investment.

Then the poor Thais can work in Multinational owned factories for $20 a week, exporting goods at HUGE markup's to the ever hungry, greedy western world.

Then they will become ENSLAVED ROBOTS just like the people of the western world. Where all people labour is reduced to the lowest profit margins so the the fat cats can take the "LIONS SHARE" of the profits, just for talking SHIT.

Just before the year 1900 ( please don't ask me exact dates) The GREAT and very wise KING OF THAILAND ( GREAT because only GREAT LEADERS can make a GREAT country. Just look at what George Bush and John Howard did to the USA and Australia and the world in just a few short years, they FUCKED the world, Bush is responsible for the Global economic crises, because he spent over 150 Billion US$ a year more than 3 trillion Dollars in total, to kill innocent Iraq people )

The GREAT and very wise KING OF THAILAND, GAVE away HUGE amounts of their GREAT country to "Foreign Powers" to save their people from war, death and hardship.

The GREAT KING of Thailand, The same one depicted in the movie, "The king and I". Only Thailand found this movie very insulting to their GREAT KING and banned this movie right until recent years.

The GREAT KING of Thailand, GAVE away what has now become Burma (and I think even modern day Malaysia) to the British, and Laos and Cambodia to the French. In an effort to "appease" the Warmongering conquerors of the world.

Around that same time, 1900, the Spanish and USA, FOUGHT over who would OWN the Philippines.

The Spanish took control of the Philippines, around the 15th century. And they ruled with an iron hand, completely eradicating all shreds of their culture and converting them to Catholic's.

Any who "begged to differ" were brutally murdered. Entire villager's who tried to escape into the jungles, and continue their old ways of living were tracked down with relentless effort, and MURDERED.

When USA defeated the Spanish and took control of the Pines, the Pinno's had their 1st revolution, it was crushed within 3 years and the leader, still recognised as the Philippines 1st President was HUNG !

Perhaps the USA wasn't quite as BRUTAL as the Spanish, But they still ruled with and iron hand, murdering all dissenters, and westernising a beautiful people, Leaving them virtually "culture-less" and a Nation of, "Little Americans". Every President of the Philippnes has been essentially a "puppet" President, answerable to the USA. That's why many have been totally corrupt, and traitors to their own country.

The USA redeemed itself when the Japanese seized the Pines and apparently treated the pinno's even worse. When General McArthur fulfilled his promise of "I shall return". And fought some of the bloodiest battles in world war 2, WITH the BRAVE pinno's assistance, in Samar and Bantayan Island and other key points. USA saved the pinnos and have enjoyed good relations ever since. But the rape of their fair country to multinationals continues unabated.

Even one of the world's greatest American writers, what's his name ? ( I can't be expected to remember all this, when is someone else going to have the 'guts' to "grab the ball and run") The man who wrote Huckleberry Fin and Tom Sawyer, that very man, also, wrote of the USA, RAPING, the Philippines !!!!! ( Ed's note. That man was MARK TWAIN. There you go Dick, I'll help you out ;-)

The Philippines is now virtually treeless, it's vast jungles gone. And many areas are highly TOXIC due to irresponsible multi-national logging, farming and mining practices.

The same goes with Burma, Laos and Cambodia, just look at the mess those country's became after Thailand gave them away to avoid strife with the "invaders".

Thailand respect's', nature, and still retains beautiful Jungles, and its people have enjoyed a high quality of life. Just looking at the perpetual smiles on their faces is the clearest proof, that, for even the poorest, living in bamboo huts and farming rice by hand, they are by no means primitive.

A jerk in a suit getting "road rage" while stuck in traffic is primitive. People who betray other people in business are primitive.

Thailand even banned polygamy in 1936 (approx) to appease the "toffee noses" in Britain, trying to find excuses to wage war.

That now is why Thailand has a thriving prostitution industry. Because of the old polygamous culture.

Now near every Thai male from middle-class upwards, visits prostitutes, often with the full knowledge of their wives.

This is a system that works quite well in Thailand. Apart from the disruption and confusion that western beliefs imposed upon them, have created.

There is no "cheating" and lying, like in the west, most understand that males are males and they like females.

The men have their wife, and "girlfriends", all above board, and that is "normal" in Thai culture.

Some idiots claim westerners fuel the Thai prostitution industry, but the part of the trade catering to westerners is minute. Something like 5% of the trade caters to westerners.

Thaksin, who was just like Howard and Bush, a "New World Order" frountman, wanted to "register" all prostitutes. And make them pay tax. To force them to pay tax is like saying to every middleclass Thai male that they now have to pay tax on their 2nd wife. Imagine if everytime you bonked your wife you had to pay a tax. wouldn't the scum killing the world love that !

Thaksin was forcing ordinary foreign men out of Thailand, to appease the west. This is not in Thailand's interest, they need foreigners, they are just not, in essence, allowed to buy land.

Thaksin did this for the western nation's, so western country's won't, LOSE all their people, to Thailand. Who, rather than have to close their border's and risk being called a country no different to the old Russia. They can still force their people to "come home" and go back to the "salt mines". (The Australian mining boom?)

When every 40+ foreigner man finds out that Thailand is, Heaven, they will leave their country's, now destroyed by the greed of multinationals and "open slather" unregulated, foreign investment, and never come back !!!!!!!

Thailand is a tourism "cover up" it's the 2nd most visited country in the world, and yet still, few people know anything about it, except derogatory western media coverage like we are witnessing right now.

Thailand lets the multinationals in, but it drives a harder deal. No ownership of land for one. Thailand is wise.

THEIR IS NOTHING WESTERNER INTERESTS WOULD WANT MORE, THAN TO SEE UTTER CHAOS IN THE STREETS OF THAILAND, AND, AFTER A TOTAL COLLAPSE, A LOOSENING OF FOREIGN INVESTMENT LAWS.

Thailand is a JEWEL to the multinationals and their army's ruling and killing the world.

Thaksin Shinawata was selling out the country. He was clever enough of a puppet, to assist the poor, so he could build a power base.

Not unlike what JOE-BEILKE Petterson did in Queensland, Australia. Built a power base with the poor farmers.

While it is great to see the poor assisted and I commend him for that. It was for all the wrong reasons, it was done in order to sell out the "GREAT" Thailand.

Thaksin was TOTALLY corrupt, and was similar to John Howard, he totally also sold out the nations telecommunications to multi-nationals.

THE REASON THAT CAUSED THAKSIN SHINAWATA'S FALL ? HE WAS CAUGHT WITH MILLIONS OF DOLLARS IN HIS POSSESSION, THAT HE COULDN'T "ACCOUNT" FOR !!!

WHEN ASKED BY THAI MEDIA.. "WERE DID YOU GET THESE MILLIONS?" HE REPLIED "I DON'T HAVE TO TELL YOU THAT, I'M THE PRIME MINISTER OF THAILAND"
WHEN ASKED BY THE THAI MEDIA.. "WELL THEN SHOULDN'T YOU AT LEAST PAY TAX ON THESE UNACCOUNTABLE MILLIONS?"
HE REPLIED, "I DON'T HAVE TO PAY TAX, I'M THE PRIME MINISTER OF THAILAND"

(Ed's note: Thaksin stole 2.5 Billion dollars from the Thai people)

Needless to say the military stepped in and performed a peaceful coup.

AND THE WESTERN MEDIA CRIED FOUL !!!

AND THAKSIN RAN TO ENGLAND AND BOUGHT THE MANCHESTER FOOTBALL TEAM !

Now Thailand, being so good at "working in" with, the forces that control the world, while still retaining it's culture and integrity. Is a member of INTERPOL, indeed they have signed most of the international agreements, certainly more than Australia.

SO BEING A MEMBER OF INTERPOL. WHY THE HELL WOULDN'T BRITAIN HAND OVER THAKSIN TO THE THAI GOVERNMENT ????

Like of course under the international agreements, Britain expects Thailand to hand over petty Brit criminals hiding in Thailand.

WHY???

BECAUSE THE "EVIL" WEST HAS ALWAYS TAKEN CARE OF THEIR "PUPPET GOVERNMENT" TYRANTS, THAT'S WHY !!!!!!

Finally now after years, because of the international law, FACTS, of this issue, Britain has reluctantly revoked Thaksins passport. and allowed him to "escape".

Thaksin has now "INCITED VIOLENCE" in Thailand, and yet global intelligence agency's are playing a 'shell game" moving him here, hiding him there.

If any person in the world incited violence on such a grand scale to a western nation ( other than Osarma Bin Laden, who at the very least, "was" on the CIA payroll ) If any person did what Thaksin has done, to a western country, he would be found immediately ! You can't run from these people !

So here we have poor Thailand getting a raw deal from the global elite, AGAIN. And again being so very "POLITE" and "DIPLOMATIC", to the "BAD BOY'S" of the world, while "BAD BOY'S" are "shifting the goal posts"!!!!

The yellow shirts did what had to be done, they were civilised, as they performed "mass civil disobedience" to get rid of a traitor, destroying their country.

Even at that time when Thaksin's corrupt political party won for a second time, and that brief moment when Thaksin returned to Thailand from Britain, (Yea only when his own party was wrongfully in power)

EVEN then when he came back and said " I will face the court about these "false" (HA!) corruption charges ". THAKSIN WAS THEN CAUGHT RED HANDED TRYING TO BRIBE THE JUDGES OF THE THAI COURTS.

That is why he ran a second time to Britain.

Why oh why don't the multinational owned western media, and the multinational owned western world. Stop their bloody propaganda that will ultimately end in more mass civil unrest and death to the good people of Thailand, AND HAND THAKSIN OVER ?

I could say a lot more to back up this argument, but I have to be brief. I'm no literary "prostitute" writing propaganda for the scum killing the world.

I can and have and will, continue to RISK MY LIFE to speak the truth "as best as i can perceive it" for the good of planet and people.

I'm no ROBOT, I'm not going to clutter my head with junk, propaganda. I'm going to stay creative.

The evil west has "fought dirty" for hundreds of years, the Incas called their rule the "13th" HELL. And its now "virtually" over, we are now entering the last age, the "7th" Heaven, according to the Incas, who had better calendar's than any westerner, ever, invented.

The people with blood, colour, the "wholemeal' people, the "underdog's" will soon prosper.

Western leaders, for hundreds of years, have had no understanding of Karma, they though they could play it "dirty" and win. look at how strong they are, look how they control everything, absolutely everything !!!

NOW WATCH THEM FALL !!!! Personally I will feel much more comfortable, when India, China and Brazil, control the world, become the next superpowers. And west becomes as poor as the 3rd world, from waging so much war, wasting Trillions of dollars, murdering innocents and paying wages to intelligence operatives, to stick their nose's in everybody else's business, and destroy good people who know the way, good people that are connected to the "infinite intelligence of the universe".

Good people with VISION !

And Australia is seen ( Heaven forbid, but that's the way were going ) as the WIMPY DICKHEADS that hung out with the schoolyard bully's, and sniggered, as innocent people got their faces rubbed into the concrete.

There is still time to change Australia. Remember the "Stockade".... Eureka of course !

Cheers love and peace.

Dick

NOTE FROM DICK; Now it is the 10th February 2010, The western world, STILL, has not handed over Thaksin, they let him fly his private jet all over the world, while claiming they didn't know of his wereabouts. Now, suprise suprise Thaksin has settled in Cambodia. With immunity. Thailand's most "difficult" neighbour, a country that has 'sold out" to the multinationals.

Thaksin has now taken up a Top position with the Cambodian Government. This could now quite possibly end up as an even worse of a scenario for Thailand.

This could end up as MORE than the country divided and rioting, this could end up as WAR between Thailand and Cambodia.

Hello Dick,

Very interesting slant you put on things.

Yes I guess we have to have an understanding about history, to really get the full picture of what is really going on.

"History repeats !" they say. "And those who forget the past are condemened to repeat it"
Two of my favourite sayings.

Yes Dick, I think it was MARK TWAIN who wrote 'Huckelberry Finn" and "Tom Sawer", never realised he was a humanitarian and an activist as well.
Good for him!

Harret Beecher-Stowe was a busy little bee. she didn't just write on of the USA's greatest literary works, "Uncle Tom's Cabin". a fiction novel, that, without offending anyone, taught white Americans that Black people were human too.

She played a major role in opening people's minds and ending injustices.

Apparently, the poor woman died in the White House.

Which smack's of "conspiricy", to me.

Apparantly she visted the White House, suddenly fell gravely ill and "they" insisted on nurseing her, I guess if all was "above board" she "should' have recieved the best care available.

But i don't think things are that simple, she entered in good health, suddenly fell gravely ill.

People only "fell" for that one in the early days.

And she was a real "Pot stirrer" if you know what i mean, she made waves, ripples in society.

Im sure many 'Tyrant" types, hated her.

Reminds me of the great grandad pioneer of the Tweed Heads, Northern N.S.W. regien. Mayb should'nt mention his name. But his grandson ran for Tweed Major, approx 15 years ago. And i think at the time he was only in his 30's.

He lost and was very "snotty" about it.

Im sure being so 'related" to the tyrant's of old though, he will go far in Politics.

Yea apparently his Grandad wanted to "settle" the battles going on with the "Fingal Aborigines", so he could keep "developing" the area. So he invited them all over for a big feast, and poisioned them ! Problem solved.
Nice Huh ?

I think I agree with you Dick. The day's of that sort of crap are ending.

Apparently, with Harret, 100's of her fans came to the White House gates every day, to ask how she was, And maybe, dont quote me, but it was something like after 3 weeks isolated in the White House, she fianally died.

The poor poor dear.

May her soul rest in peace, and her spirit live on in the hearts of many.

Fuck dont Fight,

Yea Dick,

That last post could be more true than you realise.

Pornrevolution, just recieved a very nasty virous, only a few days after you posted that artical.

Whatever happened to freedom of speech ? ? ?

Free and fair debate is cruitial to a just and fair society.

Anyway check out our video section, if you click on "back to main site" at the top of this page it will take you to our "home page", FREE PORN VIDEOS

And if you type in pornrevolution.net or dickamateurshardcore.com on Google we tend to be at the top of the page. Look for the "FREE videos"

So far we have some HOT free porn, sexy hardcore photo's and much much more to come.

Oh yea at the moment we also have a utube clip of an angry Thai women who is pushing through the properganda. And risks great danger by stating "just a few" of the facts on this Thaksin issue.

Thaksin is a traitor to Thailand, he is a "New World order" frountman. The western Media is lying about him. Insulting the GREAT Thailand.

Some media outlets are even saying Thaksin should replace the King, thats obserd, Thaksin is a traitor and a criminal on a grand scale !

He stole millions of $ from the Thai people and payed the Red-Shirts to riot. He has incited violence on a grand scale in a country with about 75 million people. An advanced and civilised country.

It's about time the west stopped protecting him, AND HAND HIM OVER TO THAILAND !

Eds Note: This article below, published almost 5 years after Dicks article pretty well supports everything Dick said.

Thailand is in serious trouble and usa is responsible for all of the trouble. Thailand's freedom is under threat.

The only hope for the entire world is to push usa back to it's own shores! usa is insane, they are not fit to rule. They must be defeated or we're all going to die, if usa rules the world every living creature on earth is going to die from their "greed is good" philosophy.

Thailand: Wall Street to the Rescue

Wall Street's Washington Post condemns protesters in Bangkok - silently complicit with regime's terror campaign

An editorial board piece in the Washington Post titled, “Thailand’s anti-democracy protests should provoke a harsh rebuke from the U.S.,” states in no uncertain terms that the US should condemn ongoing protests against unelected dictator Thaksin Shinawatra and his nepotist-appointed proxy regime led by his sister, Yingluck Shinawatra. The Washington Post argues:

Popular demonstrations against democracy are becoming an unfortunate trend in developing countries where elections have challenged long-established elites. The latest case is Thailand, where thousands of people took to the streets Monday to demand that the country’s freely chosen government step down, that an unelected council take its place and that elections scheduled for next month be canceled. The protesters’ strategy appears to be to disrupt Bangkok to the point at which the government will feel compelled to resign or be removed by the military.

Similar tactics have succeeded in bringing down two previous governments led by former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra and his supporters since 2006, while a third was forced out by a dubious court decision. This time, Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra, Mr. Thaksin’s sister, is standing firm, as she should. But she could use more support from the United States in rejecting an undemocratic outcome to the crisis.

Of course, nothing about the Washington Post’s comments is truthful.

While Thailand is technically under the premiership of Thaksin’s sister, Yingluck Shinawatra, by his party’s own admission, Thaksin is still literally running the country. The election campaign slogan for the last general election in 2011 was literally, “Thaksin Thinks, Puea Thai Does,” Puea Thai being his political party. Forbes would report in their article, “Thaksin in Exile: Advising Sister, Digging for Gold,” that:

Regarding his behind-the-scenes role in the party and policy, he is not shy: “I am the one who thinks. Like our slogan during the campaign, Thaksin thinks, Pheu Thai acts.”

The New York Times admitted in an early 2013 article titled, “In Thailand, Power Comes With Help From Skype,” that:

For the past year and a half, by the party’s own admission, the most important political decisions in this country of 65 million people have been made from abroad, by a former prime minister who has been in self-imposed exile since 2008 to escape corruption charges.

The country’s most famous fugitive,Thaksin Shinawatra, circles the globe in his private jet, chatting with ministers over his dozen cellphones, texting over various social media platforms and reading government documents e-mailed to him from civil servants, party officials say.

The NYT piece would also report:

“He’s the one who formulates the Pheu Thai policies,” said Noppadon Pattama, a senior official in Mr. Thaksin’s party who also serves as his personal lawyer. “Almost all the policies put forward during the last election came from him.”

Image: The New York Times openly admits that Thailand is currently run by unelected convicted criminal/fugitive Thaksin Shinawatra. Clearly any proxy government or elections in which it participates in are illegitimate by both Thai and international standards. Thaksin’s foreign ties are what have afforded him impunity regarding an otherwise cartoonish, 3rd world dictatorship.

….

There is no question that an accused mass murderer and convicted criminal hiding abroad from a 2 year jail sentence, multiple arrest warrants, and a long list of pending court cases, is illegally running Thailand by proxy. Being unelected, Thaksin Shinawatra is by all accounts a dictator, and his “government” a regime, however cleverly they try to dress it up.

Elections in any other nation on Earth, including the United States in which the Washington Post is based, featuring a convicted criminal openly running a contending party would be unacceptable – and in Thailand as well, they are equally unacceptable. Protesters therefore are standing up against overt criminality, not “against democracy.”

As reported many times before, current anti-regime protesters are not trying to end “democracy.” They are simply trying to end the abuse of the democratic process by an overt criminal. Elections must be carried only after Thaksin Shinawatra and his entire political machine have been safely and completely dismantled.

Washington Post Is Covering for Wall Street’s Proxy of Choice, the Shinawatras

Could the Washington Post not be aware of any of this? Could they have missed the New York Times and Forbes articles blatantly admitting the overt criminality and illegitimacy of the current proxy regime ruling Thailand? Does the Washington Post honestly believe a proxy regime openly run by a convicted criminal who was not on the ballot nor even in the country, constitutes a “freely chosen” and/or legitimate government?

Of course not.

In fact, the Washington Post’s own 2011 article titled, “Thaksin’s sister is front-runner to become Thai prime minister,” would openly admit the last general election was, “a referendum on Thaksin.”

Clearly, the Washington Post is intentionally deceiving readers to protect the Shinawatra regime in which the corporate-financier interests that steer Washington Post’s editorial board have invested heavily.

To see just how heavily invested Wall Street and Washington are in Thaksin Shinawatra and his proxy regime, one must consider over a decade of Thaksin Shianwatra’s servile obedience to these foreign interests:

In the late 1990′s, Thaksin was an adviser to notorious private equity firm, the Carlyle Group. He pledged to his foreign contacts that upon taking office, he would still serve as a “matchmaker” between the US equity fund and Thai businesses.
In 2001 he privatized Thailand’s resources and infrastructure including the nation’s oil conglomerate PTT - much to Wall Street’s delight.
In 2003, he would commit Thai troops to the US invasion of Iraq, despite widespread protests from both the Thai military and the public. Thaksin would also allow the CIA to use Thailand for its abhorrent rendition program.
Also in 2004, Thaksin attempted to ramrod through a US-Thailand Free-Trade Agreement (FTA) without parliamentary approval, backed by the US-ASEAN Business Council who just before the 2011 elections that saw Thaksin’s sister Yingluck Shinawatra brought into power, hosted the leaders of Thaksin’s “red shirt” “United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship” (UDD) in Washington DC.
Since the 2006 coup that toppled his regime, Thaksin has been represented by US corporate-financier elites via their lobbying firms including, Kenneth Adelman of the Edelman PR firm (Freedom House, International Crisis Group,PNAC), James Baker of Baker Botts (CFR, Carlyle Group), and Robert Blackwill (CFR) of Barbour Griffith & Rogers (BGR), Kobre & Kim, Bell Pottinger (and here). Currently,Robert Amsterdam, of the Chatham House corporate member Amsterdam & Partners, serves as both lobbyist for Thaksin Shianwatra as well as his “red shirt” mobs, the UDD.
During the most recent political crisis, the Western media has lent its full support to defending the Thaksin regime against protesters, as can be seen in reports by the BBC, Reuters, the New York Times, CNN, theWall Street Journal, and now the Washington Post.

The Washington Post’s condemnation of what it outrageously calls “anti-democracy militants,” is in defense of a loyal proxy, not “democracy.” That the Washington Post would also defend the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood of Egyptalongside Thaksin Shinawatra in its latest editorial, is both telling and troubling.

While the Washington Post claims the US has done little to back the Muslim Brotherhood, sources indicate that a campaign of US-backed covert violence and terrorism is already underway to undermine the military government in Cairo. And while the Washington Post may publicly lament that Washington is not condemning harshly the protesters in Bangkok, we can be sure that covert support has already been ongoing for quite some time – just as rhetorical support from the likes of the Washington Post has.

Already, the only militancy seen, has been a nightly campaign of violence directed at, not by, the anti-regime protesters. That the Washington Post also omits this suggests silent complicity with the regime who is carrying out these acts of terror.

To ignore the greater geopolitical dimensions in which Thailand’s current political crisis is unfolding, would ultimately be folly.

The Economist has recently floated a narrative that the current Thai regime could flee to the north and “separate” the region from Thailand. Far from a legitimate government seeking to “preserve democracy,” it a Western-backed proxy regime carrying out the tried by true modern imperial agenda of divide and rule.
First, it should be remembered that the Economist publishes paid-for op-eds. It is not news, it is not analysis, it is simply the message told by the highest bidders – the corporate-financier interests of Wall Street and London. These interests are passed to the Economist via their impressive network of lobbying firms. The Economist itself sits among the corporate membership of large Wall Street-London policy think-tanks like the Chatham House, right along side these lobbying firms.
In their latest article, “Political crisis in Thailand: You go your way, I’ll go mine,” one of these lobbying firms comes to mind - fellow Chatham House corporate member Amsterdam & Partners. Robert Amsterdam is currently representing deposed dictator, accused mass murderer, and convicted criminal Thaksin Shinawatra, as well as his “red shirt” enforcers. It claims:
Indeed, many red shirts say Bangkok is already lost. Mr Suthep has nearly free rein there, closing down most government offices. The police have charged him with insurrection and seizing state property, but no attempt has been made to arrest him. The imposition of a state of emergency for 60 days may not make much difference.
Thus most red shirts in the north and north-east now contemplate—indeed they seem to be preparing for—a political separation from Bangkok and the south. Some can barely wait. In Chiang Mai a former classmate of Mr Thaksin’s says that in the event of a coup “the prime minister can come here and we will look after her. If…we have to fight, we will. We want our separate state and the majority of red shirts would welcome the division.” Be afraid for Thailand as the political system breaks down.
Thaksin Shianwatra is at the very center of Thailand’s current political crisis which includes the ongoing “Occupy Bangkok” campaign that has paralyzed the government for now nearly 2 weeks, and has drawn out the largest street protests in decades. Pro-government rallies have fizzled and many of the regime’s supporters, including rural farmers have in fact joined the opposition after being cheated in a vote-buying rice subsidy scam that has gone bankrupt and left them unpaid now for nearly half a year.
Why Secession is Impossible & Why the Lie is Being Repeated in Economist

It was in 2010 that the Asia Foundation conducted its ”national public perception surveys of the Thai electorate,” (2010′s full .pdf here). In a summary report titled, “Survey Findings Challenge Notion of a Divided Thailand.” It summarized the popular misconception of a “divided” Thailand by stating:
“Since Thailand’s color politics began pitting the People’s Alliance for Democracy’s (PAD) “Yellow-Shirt” movement against the National United Front of Democracy Against Dictatorship’s (UDD) “Red-Shirt” movement, political watchers have insisted that the Thai people are bitterly divided in their loyalties to rival political factions.”
The survey, conducted over the course of late 2010 and involving 1,500 individuals, revealed however, a meager 7% of Thailand’s population identified themselves as being “red” Thaksin supporters, with another 7% identifying themselves only as “leaning toward red.”
Worse yet for Thaksin Shianwatra and his foreign backers, the survey would also reveal that many more Thais (62%) believed the Thai military, who ousted Thaksin Shinawatra from power in 2006 in a bloodless coup, and who put down two pro-Thaksin insurrections in 2009 and 2010, was an important independent institution that has helped safeguard and stabilize the country.

Graph: Up from 62% the year before, the public perception of the military as an important independent institution stood at 63%. Even in in the regime’s rural strongholds, support stood at 61%. The only individually polled group that did show majority support for the military, was the regime’s tiny “red” minority, but even among them, 30% still supported the army. .
For Thaksin Shinawatra and his proxy regime, it has only lost support since the 2010 survey was conducted. In the 2011 elections, despite being declared a “landslide victory,” according to Thailand’s Election Commission, Thaksin Shinawatra’s proxy political party received 15.7 million votes out of the estimated 32.5 million voter turnout (turnout of approx. 74%). This gave Thaksin’s proxy party a mere 48% of those who cast their votes on July 3rd (not even half), and out of all eligible voters, only a 35% mandate to actually “lead” the country.

Image: Rice farmers, considered stalwart supporters of the Thaksin Shinawatra’s regime, have now begun protesting after being promised unsustainable rice subsidies from a fund that is now bankrupt and hasn’t paid farmers for up to 6 months. Rice farmers had threatened to join protests to help oust the government, and are now blocking roads and indeed moving to Bangkok.
….

Since taking office, it has bankrupted a disastrous vote-buying rice subsidy and has subsequently failed to pay rice farmers, fumbled its response twice during catastrophic flooding in 2011 and again just this year – all while spending the vast majority of its time consolidating its power and attempting to exonerate Thaksin Shinawatra of his many crimes.
Conversely, it was the Royal Thai Army that came to the aid of the rural countryside when flooding hit, and assisted in both rescue and logistics during the floods, as well as cleaning up afterwards.
The regime is alone – with a shrinking support base of violent zealot “red shirts” and not much else. Daily, reports of new groups joining anti-regime protests, from medical workers, to unions, to educators, political figures, and Thai business interests continue to make headlines. Under what possible scenario could the Economist imagine the regime being able to “carve off” half the country?
A Bluff Backed by Terrorism “Worth Trying”
Not only do the facts paint a picture in sharp contrast to the “divided Thailand” narrative, but operational considerations also completely dispel the myth of a pending “civil war.”
The number of armed supporters Thaksin could possess in Thailand to actually fight a “civil war” are minimal. Of the 10,000-30,000 supporters he is able to mobilize with cash payments and bus services at any given time, only about 1,000 could be considered fanatical, and out of that, fewer still who are of military age, willing, and physically able to take up arms against Thaksin’s enemies. Thaksin had clearly augmented this with professional mercenaries, drawn from paramilitary border units in the north and northeast, but these numbered only about 300 and were easily outmatched by the Thai military in 2010.
Thaksin’s grip on the nation’s police forces allows him to produce on demand thousands from across his north and northeast political stronghold, but even if these police were armed, they lack the training, organizational skills, and coordination to pose any threat to the nation’s armed forces. They have proven in recent weeks to be completely ineffectual (and in some cases unwilling) against even unarmed protesters.

Image: From Thaksin Shinawatra’s “red” publications, left to right – “The Giant Wave of Democracy From Tunisia to Thailand,” “Asking to Die in the Seat of Power,” and “From the Nile to the Mekong, to the Chaopaya,” all indicate that Thaksin’s propagandists were likewise channeling the US State Department’s “Arab Spring” rhetoric as well as making the implicit threat that armed militancy was (and may still be) a desired option.
….
The real threat would be an influx of Cambodian mercenaries, trained, armed, and directed from Cambodia, and sent into Thailand covertly to be staged and deployed at key points during Thaksin’s continued bid to cling to power. These could be used to augment police and small units of fanatics drawn from Thaksin’s “red shirt” mob, or in individual operations aimed at various elements of the opposition.
This follows the same model Thaksin’s foreign backers are using against Syria, where armed militants had been prepared and staged along Syria’s borders, years before violence erupted in 2011. While initial reports from Western media claimed Syria was engaged in a “civil war,” it is now abundantly clear it was instead a foreign invasion by mercenaries sponsored by a conglomerate of NATO and Persian Gulf nations.
However, unlike in Syria, Thailand commands tactical, strategic, economic, and numerical superiority over Cambodia. There are few if any regional mechanisms that would protect the regime in Cambodia from retaliation by Thailand should violence break out and Hun Sen found complicit in supplying mercenaries and/or material support.
The Thai “civil war” Western analysts have long been predicting with poorly masked enthusiasm, would most likely only materialize using the “Syrian-model” of covert invasion combined with a coordinated propaganda campaign already being carried out by the Western media. Instead of Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, and northern Iraq feeding militants into Syria, this new war would consist of Cambodia feeding militants and material in through northeast Thailand, with the resulting conflict appearing to be between “Thaksin’s political stronghold” there and the rest of the country.
However, the best Thaksin Shinawatra and his backers could hope to achieve in the wake of their eventual ousting from Thailand’s political landscape is wide-scale terrorism, not all out “war,” in hope of scaring off the military from larger scale operations to counter him. However, such violence would only open the door to hard-lined Egypt-style purges of Thaksin’s political allies and remaining financial assets inside the country, and the permanent exile of anyone in his regime smart enough to leave before the violence began. For Thaksin it would be a futile act of spite, but one the nation should be prepared for nonetheless.
Secession and ”civil war” in Thailand are impossible. Thailand is not divided. If anything, now more than ever it is united in purpose against an increasingly destructive, perpetually self-serving regime that has long since overstayed its welcome. Thais of all kinds are eager to get back to the business of moving the nation forward and that the regime would threaten this desire with warnings of protracted “civil war,” is but another reason it must be uprooted permanently from Thailand’s political landscape.
