Loi Krathong, Ancient Love Festival... Still celebrated every year from late October to Mid-November, on the night of the proper Full Moon............ A really SPECIAL time to be in Thailand............ One of the more memorable moments during my stay............ This festival originated 700 years ago and still going strong...... It's a festival of LOVE...... Couples and even family members float a "Krathoung", traditionally made from a slice of a banana stalk and decorated with banana leaves, skillfully folded "origami" style, into an object of great beauty. A candle is added to this Krathong and it is then floated out on the water, eliminating all bad luck and ensuring good luck for the coming year......
