Plenty of fine upstanding and highly creative citizens in Australia consume much more than that. What's wrong with giving them more?

The 6 plants a year thing is interesting though, because the best, most skilled growers could produce 5 kilo a plant. Seems this law is based on the idea of stopping people from "supplementing" their incomes with the sale of the sacred enlightening herb Ganja?

So now only the Government makes money from pot just like before, only now nobody else can make money from it? .... Hey no fair! Perhaps that's their greatest concern? People pulling themselves out of poverty? Perhaps the war on Marijuana is really a war on people making money? What's wrong with the people making money? The whole world needs money, not just the fat cat multi-nationals, the enemy of Planet and People.

Hash could end worldwide poverty, it could be used as an "adults only" second currency all throughout the world. Takes a lot of skill to grow good pot and even more skill to turn it into good hash.

Hash has a long shelf life. The governments could tax it and it could even replace Gold in a sense, (apparently all the Gold in Fort Knox, used to guarantee USA's economy is already long gone but they won't admit it)

Hash would have to be consumed before the use by date, which is also good because the money keeps moving around, it can't be sucked out of the system, hoarded and stored by the super rich for longer than 10 years, or its quality and value will start to decline. All of the wealth of the world has been sucked out and hoarded by the super rich!

A Hash currency constantly moving around will ensure not just the people will have some degree of wealth but also Governments can continue to extract a => fair tax <= from it, (Not excessive, please guys, a free and fair world for ALL not just an elite few).

Think about it.

A spokesman for President Jose Mujica of Uruguay says the leader has quietly signed into law the government's plan to create a regulated, legal market for marijuana.

Presidential secretary Diego Canepa told The Associated Press on Tuesday that Mujica signed the legislation Monday night. That was the last formal step for the law to take effect.

Bureaucrats now have until April 9 to write the fine print for regulating every aspect of the marijuana market, from growing to selling in a network of pharmacies.

They hope to have the whole system in place by the middle of next year. But as of Tuesday, growing pot at home is legal in Uruguay, up to six plants per family and an annual harvest of 480 grams.
